Famous musician Sonu Nigam is ready to start his world tour next month with a concert named Rafi, Kishore Aur Main. However, the issues around the mandatory 10-day quarantine in the UK have made him a little worried. According to the rules revolving around Covid-19 in the UK, the Indian travelers will be quarantined for 10 days, even if they are fully vaccinated by Covishield.
Further illustrating this, Sonu Nigam quoted to the Hindustan Times, “I am hopefully traveling to the UK in November for a concert which is called Rafi, Kishore Aur Main, which will be the beginning of my world tour. I hope that by then Covisheield is recognized in the UK and we don’t have to go through the quarantine. I am being optimistic about it and hopefully, by the time we are supposed to leave for the UK next month, this matter would be resolved.” Sonu Nigam seems expectant that the matter would be resolved before his World Tour dates.
The singer has admittedly started live performances back home, also shares that the pandemic has been especially difficult for live musicians. The singer has been living in Dubai for the past few years, has also received a special UAE Golden Visa.
Furthermore, the singer revealed how strenuous it has been for the live musicians, explaining the effect on wages and livelihoods. “My heart goes out to all musicians, the daily wage earners the sound engineers and instrumentalists, whose livelihood depends on the live scene. I making sure that I take care of my musicians. We are doing online concerts sometimes at a very low cost, so that at least musicians ka chalta rahe. Things are opening up now and that’s good. I did a corporate concert in Goa recently but in restrained numbers,” disclosed Nigam.
