Sona Mohapatra says, Salman Khan’s appeal to fans is a PR move, calls him ‘poster boy of toxic masculinity’

Sona Mohapatra attacked Salman Khan after he appealed to his fans to ‘Stand with Sushant Singh Rajput’s fans and don’t go by language and curses’ on social media.
Singer Sona Mohapatra earmarked the actor as ‘the one & only poster boy of toxic masculinity’ in one of her tweets. Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely death has reawakened the discussion of nepotism in the industry.

“A ‘large hearted’ PR move from the one & only poster boy of toxic masculinity! Of course, he felt no such need to tweet or apologise for the vile threats that his digital paid army sent out to intimidate & bully others in the past. Got his dad to speak every time he screwed up,” Sona wrote on Twitter.

In response to Salman’s tweet on Saturday, which read, “A request to all my fans to stand with Sushant’s fans and not to go by the language and the curses used but to go with the emotion behind it. Please support and stand by his family and fans as the loss of a loved one is extremely painful.”

Salman was trending on Twitter last week, over the insider v/s outsider debate on nepotism. While #Boycottsalmankhan and #SalmanKhanIsBULLY was trending in hashtags last week, Salman’s fan answered back with #WeStandBySalmanKhan and #WeLoveYouSalmanKhan, leading to a battle of hashtags on the micro-blogging social media website.

This is not the first time Sona has called out Salman and his fans on social media. In the past, she has extended her support to Priyanka Chopra for walking out of the actor’s Bharat for wich she received death and rape threats online. She had later shared a screenshot of an apology from one of the Salman’s fan, and had written, “From S**t ‘I’ll kill you’ to ‘Sona Mam’. A journey of toxic intimidation to ‘being intimidated’ within 24 hours? I’m guessing he figured that India would find & thrash him soon enough. Dear followers of bhai the bully, please read the writing on the wall. Your time is UP. (sic)”
