Films and films that can make us think or change our minds are important. Gray, Shreya Dhanwanthary’s short film, has gotten a lot of positive feedback since its premiere on Amazon miniTV. Naina (Shreya Dhanwanthary) is a young girl who goes through an uncomfortable experience of battling between consent and friendship in this thought-provoking film. She gets counseling and eventually achieves a level of clarity that allows her to be free of all inhibitions and self-doubt.
Shreya Dhanwanthary spoke about the short film and said, “There is something about the story that has made us wonder and learn something new. Through this film we hope to spark a conversation, a debate, and talk about what consent means. Examining the situations that people probably may have been in and the idea that we can push the needle in some way was something which was important.”
“We at Amazon miniTV always try to bring impactful stories that would entertain and enlighten the audiences. We know about consent and talk about it but how well we understand or implement, is the real question. We are proud to bring this meaningful story to our library of the award-winning short films” said, Girish Prabhu, Head of Amazon Advertising.
The short film is directed by Sakshi Gurnani and stars Dia Mirza and Shreya Dhanwanthary in key roles.
