Shock to Kangana Ranaut, Bombay High Court dismisses plea to quash defamation case

After the Sushant Singh Rajput case, Kangana gave an interview on TV in which she made a wrong remark about Javed Akhtar. She had put many allegations against Javed Akhtar. After which, Javed Akhtar registered a defamation case against Kangana in November 2020.

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has got a setback from the Bombay High Court as the high court rejected her plea in a Defamation Case. Javed Akhtar had filed a defamation case against her last year.

In response, a petition to quash this case was filed by Kangana in the Bombay High Court, which has been rejected by the court. However, after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, the actress had made many allegations against Javed Akhtar, after which the lyricist filed a defamation case against her.

It is worth noting that after the Sushant Singh Rajput case, Kangana gave an interview on TV in which she made a wrong remark about Javed Akhtar. She had put many allegations against Javed Akhtar. After which, Javed Akhtar registered a defamation case against Kangana in November 2020. However, the magistrate had issued a bailable warrant against Kangana on March 1, where Kangana got bail on March 25.

At the same time, Kangana filed a petition seeking the court to quash the criminal defamation complaint, on which Javed Akhtar requested the court to dismiss the petition.

Akhtar had claimed that Kangana’s statement had hurt his reputation. Akhtar’s lawyer NK Bhardwaj said that the magistrate court has taken action against Kangana following the rules. Moreover, the court has now dismissed Kangana’s petition.
