Ruturaj Gaikwad, a batsman for India and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), wed his longtime lover Utkarsha Pawar on Saturday. In the Maharashtra state of Mahabaleshwar, the pair exchanged vows.
The 30-year-old posted images from his wedding along with the message, “From the pitch to the altar, our journey begins!,” on Instagram. Only two of Gaikwad’s CSK teammates, Prashant Solanki and Shivam Dube, were in attendance.
On Instagram, athletes like Devdutt Padikkal and Rajat Patidar offered their congratulations to the newlyweds.
Gaikwad was selected as a standby player for the next India-Australia World Test Championship (WTC) final, which would take place at The Oval from June 7–11, however he informed the BCCI of his inability to compete because of his marriage. Yashasvi Jaiswal, a batter with the Rajasthan Royals, was selected as his replacement for the game.
