Prateik Babbar is all set to tie the knot with his girlfriend Priya Banerjee on Friday, on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. Before the grand wedding, the actor’s half-brother and fellow actor, Aarya Babbar, revealed that nobody from the Babbar family is invited to the wedding, and not even his father and veteran actor, Raj Babbar. While Aarya did not blame anyone, he said that someone is ‘influencing him’.
During an interview with ETimes, Aarya admitted not understanding the decision as he presumed that they are close with his half-brother. He stated, “I presume someone has overpowered his brain too much. He is not wanting to connect with anyone from this side of the family. He has decided not to call anyone.”
However, Aarya expressed that he gives ‘benefit of doubt’ to Prateik. He also shared that he understand Prateik not inviting his step-mother Nadira Babbar, but he should have at least invited his father Raj Babbar. “Life is not less than a film; someone in the house is influencing him. I don’t want to think it is Prateik, and I don’t think he is like that,” stated Aarya.
For the unversed, this is Prateik’s second marriage. He was earlier married to Sanya Sagar.
Prateik is the son of actor Raj Babbar and Smita Patil. At the time, Raj was already married to Nadira Babbar and had two children – Aarya and Juhi Babbar. However, as he fell in love with his co-star, Smita, they got married in 1983 and welcomed Prateik in 1986. Unfortunately, Smita passed away just a few days after giving birth due to childbirth complications. Following her untimely demise, Raj got back together with Nadira.
