“Proud of my Indianness”- Sara Ali Khan on her outfit for the Cannes Film Festival

Sara Ali Khan made her debut at the International Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday. The actress stunned everyone when she walked on the red carpet wearing a lehenga, unlike other celebrities who have opted for extravagant attires. Photos have been surfacing from the event and fans are altogether impressed by Sara’s choice for choosing on a traditional garment.

The Kedarnath star appeared wearing an ivory lehenga with a matching blouse. She had tied her hair in a bun and attached her dupatta to it, which had a long trail. The actress completed her look by wearing heavy diamond earrings and a bracelet. The dress was designed by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.

Speaking about her outfit, Sara said, “It is traditional Indian, handmade work. And I have always been very proud of my Indianness. And therefore it embodies who I am, I think it is fresh, modern but also traditional Indian.”

She even posted the pictures on Instagram and captioned it, “You Cannes do it,” also addressing other artists who styled her for the event. A fan wrote, “The true representation of India..A Royal representation.” While another wrote, “The way she is slaying in Indian.”

Meanwhile, the actress is busy promoting for her upcoming film Zara Hatke Zara Bachke along with Vicky Kaushal. She will next be appearing in Ae Watan Mere Watan, which is directed by Jagan Shakti.
