Priyanka Chopra reveals suffering from depression due to poor plastic surgery

After a doctor-recommended nose job went wrong, Priyanka Chopra’s mental health suffered.

Indian actress and singer Priyanka Chopra Jonas experienced “deep depression” as a result of a botched nose surgery early in her career. The “Citadel” star revealed to Howard Stern that she struggled with “deep depression” following a procedure to remove a polyp from her nasal cavity, which completely altered her appearance. “This thing happens, and my face looks completely different, and I went into a deep, deep depression,” Chopra Jonas said on the shock jock’s SiriusXM show. The former Miss Universe was only beginning her stint in Bollywood when she questioned whether her acting career “was over before it started.”

Chopra Jonas, who regarded her initial surgical experience as terrible, went back to the hospital after her father urged her to have reconstructive surgery. “I was terrified of that, but he was like, ‘I will be in the room with you,'” the “Quantico” star recalled. She thanked her father for how he “held my hands through it and helped me build back my confidence.”

In her 2021 memoir “Unfinished,” she provided additional information regarding the procedure. The bridge of her nose collapsed because the doctor unintentionally shaved it when removing the polyp, according to the woman’s letter. “Mom and I were shocked when it was time to take off the bandages and the state of my nose was seen. I had lost my original nose.

Chopra did, however, also discuss how she has altered her viewpoint.

“Now when I look in the mirror, I am no longer surprised; I’ve made peace with this slightly different me,” she said.

“I’m just like everyone else: I look at myself in the mirror and think maybe I can lose a little weight; I think maybe I can work out a little more. But I’m also content. This is my face. This is my body. I might be flawed, but I am me.”
