
Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton issued a joint statement after the outpouring of support for the latter’s battle against cancer.
“The Prince and Princess are both enormously touched by the kind messages from people her in the UK, across the Commonwealth and around the world in response to Her Royal Highness’ message,” read a Kensington Palace statement, as shared by Us Weekly. The statement that the couple is “extremely moved” by the warmth and support they received from the public, and have expressed gratitude for their understanding of privacy in this time.
Their joint statement comes after Kate announced on Friday that she has been diagnosed with cancer, two months after being hospitalised for abdominal surgery.
In the video message, wherein the Princess had announced her health update, she had expressed her desire to manage this privately for the sake of their family. The couple share three children together – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
