Olivia Munn reveals she diagnosed breast cancer and has underwent two mastectomy

Olivia Munn shocked her fans as she revealed that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer last year.

“In February 2023, in an effort to be proactive about my health, I took a genetic test that checks you for 90 different cancer genes,” shared Olivia in a lengthy Instagram post on Wednesday. She added that she tested negative for all, including BRCA, which is a breast cancer gene. Her sister Sara Potts also tested negative as well, to which the sisters celebrated by high fiving over the phone.

Despite the negative tests, she was subsequently diagnosed with breast cancer two months later and has undergone ‘four surgeries’.

The actress shared that she decided to keep her diagnosis private, which was attempt to go through the hard part before sharing, which including a undergoing a double mastectomy.

In her post, she also thanked her OBGYN Dr. Thais Aliabadi, for being able to catch her cancer early, giving her enough time with the options she had.

She concluded her emotional message by thanking the medical staff, who assisted her amid her battle with cancer. Olivia also mentioned her “friends who’ve had breast cancer and the friends who connected me to friends who’ve had breast cancer for guiding me through some of the most uncertain and overwhelming moments.”
