Neetu Kapoor remembers Rishi Kapoor with Maya Angelou’s famous “Wish me luck” poem

A month after legendary actor Rishi Kapoor’s shocking demise, actress and wife Neetu Kapoor uploaded a throwback picture with her husband in which they are twinning in blue, the couple looks adorable in this throwback picture from happier times.

She captioned the post with lyrics Gracie Fields’ song and wrote, “Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye. Cheerio, here I go on my way. With a cheer, not a tear, in your eye. Give me a smile, I can keep for a while. In my heart while I’m away.” Riddhima Kapoor was all hearts for this memorable post by her mother. Earlier, Riddhima Kapoor had also posted a picture remembering her father with a poem by Maya Angelou.

Neetu Kapoor’s post on Instagram saw a number of comments by celebrities and well-wishers. Most of them condoling Rishi Kapoor’s demise and giving her a reassurance that there’s was a beautiful and timeless love story.

Rishi Kapoor died on 30th April at Mumbai’s Sir HN Reliance Foundation hospital on Thursday, 8:45 am. He was battling Leukaemia for the past two years and underwent treatment for it in New York for a year.

He is survived by wife and actress Neetu Kapoor, children Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and actor Ranbir Kapoor. The actor, who was always vocal about issues on Twitter, had first disclosed his illness on the micro-blogging site.

All through his tough times, Neetu Kapoor stood like a rock behind him. The two cemented a great bond of love and affection – giving picture-perfect relationship goals to fans and followers. Rishi and Neetu Kapoor worked in several movies like Kabhie Kabhie, Amar Akbar Anthony, Khel Khel Mein, Rafoo Chakkar, Do Dooni Chaar amongst various others together. As a matter of fact, the same song was also picturized on Rishi Kapoor and Simi Garewal in his debut film directed by his dad Raj Kapoor ‘Mera Naam Joker.’
