Neena Gupta is now enjoying her second innings in the film industry. In her book ‘Sach Kahun Toh – An Autobiography’, Neena has discussed her school life in Delhi.
The ‘Badhaai Ho’ actress did her graduation from Janki Devi Mahavidyalaya which was a girl’s college. While portraying her story from her college days, Neena uncovered that one of the two biker young boys looked at by her and her friends were none other than actor Shakti Kapoor.
Neena wrote in her book, “There were two boys in particular whom all the girls would wait to see every day. They were well dressed, good looking and one of them had eyes that were a unique shade of grey. It wasn’t until decades later when I was talking to Shakti Kapoor about my college days that he revealed that he too used to live in WEA and had a girlfriend who went to Janki Devi. ‘I used to come and pick her up on my bike,’ he said.”
“We had grown up pretty much all our lives in the same area but had never crossed paths. I also couldn’t believe that he was one of the two boys whom all the girls knew, and whose girlfriend we all envied,” she added
As of late, during an interview with Vinita Dawra Nangia, the Times LitFest Director the actress conceded that nowadays, the opposite happens and that instead of teaching her daughter anything, she learns a lot from her.
“The one thing she has taught me is social media and how to behave there! She has also taught me to be non-judgemental. One day, I told her how a person had said some stuff to me, and that I thought she is not a nice person. But Masaba told me, ‘Mom, she is like that. Why are you being judgemental about her, let her be.’ It’s the little things she tells me that make me realize I am getting unnerved about something trivial,” pointed out Neena.
