Malayalam producer Johny Sagariga arrested by Coimbatore police in Rs 2.75 crore fraud case – READ

Johny Sagariga is best known for producing films like ‘Thaandavam,’ ‘Chakram,’ ‘Bodyguard,’ ‘Orkut Oru Ormmakkoottu,’ ‘Muppathu Vellikkaasu,’ and ‘Nonsense,’ among others.

Johny Sagariga, a film producer, has been detained in a fraud case following a complaint filed by Coimbatore resident Dwarak Udayakumar. Dwarak Udayakumar filed a complaint alleging that he gave Johny Sagariga ₹2.75 crore for film development, but was defrauded.

Coimbatore police nabbed Johny at Nedumbassery Airport.

The immigration department apprehended Johnny Sagarika as he attempted to board an Air India trip to Dubai. He was then taken to the Coimbatore Crime Branch for further investigation.

The complainant, Dwarak, is a businessman living in Canada. The issue revolves around an alleged Rs 2.75 crore fraud that was supposedly used to produce a film by Johnny Sagarika.

While Johnny Sagarika reportedly recovered Rs 50 lakhs, the complaint states that Rs 2.25 crores remain due. Johnny’s son, Ryan John Thomas, is also named as the second accused.

The crime branch inspector has claimed that a thorough search for Ryan is currently underway.

Some of the films produced by Sagarika include ‘Thaandavam,’ ‘Chakram,’ ‘Bodyguard,’ ‘Orkut Oru Ormmakkoottu,’ ‘Muppathu Vellikkaasu,’ and ‘Nonsense,’ among others.
