While talking about the success of Gadar 2 at the box office, Sunny Deol shared insights regarding the film and his amazing comeback. He even revealed that he wanted a solo release for Gadar 2. As his film was clashing with Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2, he had requested him to push forward the release date.
Sunny stated, “I asked him, ‘please don’t do it if it is in your hands,’ but he said, ‘no, the studio and all that’… and they said anyway two films can release, so I just said okay, go ahead, I can just request, I can’t do anything more than that.”
The actor also expressed the issue that he felt while releasing the film. As he hadn’t had any successful films in over years, he wanted his comeback film to be a super hit. There was a sense of attachment he felt with the movie and was speculating about releasing it with another high-budget film. But then he thought better of himself and asked if, “Does this matter?” Eventually, he went along with releasing the film against the odds.
Gadar 2 was a massive hit with fans rejoicing over Sunny Deol’s remarkable comeback. The film earned a gross profit of Rs 691.08 crore with a budget of Rs 60 crore. The movie also ventured to showcase the most hit chemistry of Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel. Based on an action-drama theme, the film is directed by Anil Sharma.
