Ranveer Allahbadia’s joke over parents and sex on Samay Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent, has landed him in legal trouble. He has been facing severe backlash and even an FIR is filed against him. Ranveer did not appeared for his second round of questioning and Mumbai police revealed that his number was switched off and his house was locked. In response, Ranveer issued a statement saying, “My team and I are cooperating with the police and all other authorities. I will follow due process and be available to all agencies… It is my moral responsibility to do better and I am genuinely sorry… I’m not running away. I have full faith in the police and the judicial system of India.”
His post went viral on Reddit and many have been strongly reacting to the way YouTuber is receiving threats. One of the user wrote, “Disgusting behaviour and heights of velapanti!” while another wrote, “This is a new low for India. I hope him and his family are safe. It makes me sick watching how this whole ordeal has been unfolding.” One more Reddit user commented, “Ranveer has apologized for what he did. And what he did was certainly wrong, but going after him so ruthlessly, threatening his family, giving death threats, demanding encounters and burning his effigies is just irrational and sad.”
