Bhumika Chawla is ready to make her comeback with Salman Khan, after their hit film Tere Naam. This time it’s for Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi ki Jaan and their reunion is creating all the buzz.
Though she was not doing in any major Hindi films, Chawla was quite active on social media – building a bond with her fans. Ask her if she feels it’s a pressure to be constantly active in the world of web in order to stay relevant, Chawla says, “I do not believe in living under any pressure. Thanks to the upbringing my parents have given, I have never done anything which I do not want to. Having said that, social media indeed makes a difference. I do keep posting once in a while, but it’s not a task or a pressure. If I don’t feel like, I will disappear. I do not really pay attention to things like followers- whether they will get reduced or not.”
Pointing out at the insight feature of social media app Instagram, which gives you an idea about how many followers have seen your post and how has the growth been in the past few days, Chawla says, “It’s goes up and down like the stock market. But I believe, if you keep a track of it all the time, it means you do not know your worth…that means your validation is very shallow and it comes with the number of likes on your social media post.”
The Tere Naam actor says it’s very important to “balance the reel and the real world”, because if you do not do it, you will get into “deep depression”.
But absence from social media and one not making enough efforts to stay in touch with fans might be seen in the negative light sometimes, with people even questioning if the celebrities are passionate enough about their work. But Chawla does not pay heed to any of it either. “social media and all are fine to an extent. What’s being said there or because of it should not be taken to heart. For someone like me, who have been in a zone where she is happy working, these things don’t matter. That’s why I have never felt the pressure to show off or tell the world that I love my work.”
