Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter receives legal notice by Indian Air Force officer for kissing in uniform- Check details inside

Siddharth Anand’s much-awaited Fighter film has had its theatrical release on the 25th of January. Ever since the release of the movie, it has been receiving great response from fans and critics. The movie is ongoing in cinemas and has attained over Rs 300 crore globally.

Fighter features the main leads Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan playing the role of Indian Air Force pilots. Now, it seems like a certain scene in the movie has landed the makers in big trouble. A legal notice has been sent by Wing Commander Saumya Deep Das, a member of the Indian Air Force to the makers.

In a report by India TV, it has been known that a  legal notice has been issued with a subject line stating, “Legal Notice for Defamation, Insult and Negative Impact of Indian Air Force and its Officers.” It remarks that the Indian Air Force uniform is not merely a piece of clothing, but it holds the utmost value. The uniform symbolizes an honest commitment to duty, national security, and unwavering dedication.

The notice reads, “It embodies the highest ideals of sacrifice, discipline, and unwavering dedication to protecting our nation. By utilizing this sacred symbol for a scene promoting personal romantic entanglements, the film grossly misrepresents its inherent dignity and devalues the profound sacrifices made by countless officers in service of our nation. Moreover, it normalizes inappropriate behaviour in uniform, setting a dangerous precedent that undermines the moral and ethical standards expected from those entrusted with safeguarding our borders.”

Mentioning the particular kissing scene that was highly inappropriate, the notice further asserts, “Kissing in uniform, on a runway which comes under the purview of a technical area, while portrayed as romantic, is considered grossly inappropriate and unbecoming of an IAF officer, as it contradicts the high standards of discipline and decorum expected from them.”

Fighter is helmed by Siddharth Anand and stars Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan, Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi and Sanjeeda Sheikh in key roles.

The film even before its release had to go through certain difficulties. It was being ordered to make specific changes by the censor board. The makers were told to remove certain scenes including the famous song Ishq Jaisa Kuch.

Fighter is also being banned from releasing in West Asia or Gulf countries except for UAE. The ban was lifted as the movie reportedly showed a particular religion in the wrong light.
