The famous rapper Honey Singh’s marriage has come to an end. A Delhi court has granted divorce to the singer and his wife Shalini Talwar. The judgement comes after the 2 and a half years of court hearings. Before granting divorce, the judge even asked Honey Singh if he wanted to give another chance to his marriage. The artist replied to it by saying that there is no point in living together now.
For those who are unaware, Shalini Talwar has put domestic violence allegations on the singer. She said she was staying in fear as a matter of mental, physical, emotional and sexual abuse by Singh. The judgement which was passed on Tuesday withdraws the allegations.
The ex-couples have settled with the court. As a part of the settlement, Honey Singh gave Rs 1 crore to his wife in the form of a demand draft.
Honey Singh tied the knot with Shalini in January 2011. The case was filed after 11 years of marriage in the family court under section 13B of the Hindu Marriage Act.
Honey Singh’s advocate Ishan Mukherjee in a conversation with Hindustan Times revealed that “The second motion has been granted and the divorce decree has been issued.” He didn’t make any further statements regarding the case as it was a private matter of the couples involved. Shalini’s lawyer on the other hand refused to make any comments on the the issue.
