Acclaimed Bollywood actor and TV star Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide on Sunday. He was found hanging at his Bandra residence, according to the preliminary investigation. Sushant’s servant informed the police after he found his dead body hanging to the ceiling of his room. The probe is still on.

Condolences poured in from all quarters for the highly-talented actor who won several awards for his roles.

Kai Po Che!

The 34-year old Sushant made his film debut in Kai Po Che! (2013), for which he even received a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. Sushant played one of the three key characters in the movie directed by Abhishek Kapoor. It was a dream come true for Sushant Singh Rajput when he was offered a key role in the movie. Since then, he has launched himself to soaring new heights in the Bollywood.


Chhichhore, starring Sushant, Shraddha Kapoor and a strong ensemble cast, was an obvious, all-round winner. With a not-too-complicated message, this movie fulfilled the primary Bollywood objective of pleasing crowds. The film hit the right notes when it flashes back to the inter-hostel sporting competition between the students.

Interestingly, Sushant underwent training to act like MS Dhoni and sharpen his batting skills. Based on the life of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the movie highlighted the untold journey of a young boy who made his way into the victorious corridors of cricket.


Rajput played a Pithoo (people who carry pilgrims on their back) in the movie. In order to master the technique, he had to go through rigorous training from the local Pithoos.
