Haryanvi singer Raju Punjabi passes away at 40; Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar mourns demise

According toreports, he had jaundice and his condition was deteriorating to the point where he couldn’t be saved.

Raju Punjabi, a popular Haryanvi singer, died on Tuesday at a hospital in Haryana’s Hisar. He was apparently admitted to the hospital around ten days ago, and when his health deteriorated, he was placed on a ventilator, but he eventually died from his sickness. He was 40 years old when he died.

According to reports, he had jaundice and his condition was deteriorating to the point where he couldn’t be saved.

Punjabi was apparently hospitalised previously as well, but he was discharged after a short stay. However, shortly after going home, his condition deteriorated, and he was re-admitted to the hospital and eventually placed on a ventilator.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar expressed regret over Punjabi’s demise, calling it a “irreparable loss” to the music industry.

“Received the sad news of the demise of famous Haryanvi singer and music producer Raju Punjabi ji. His passing away is an irreparable loss to the Haryana Music Industry,” he tweeted.

He added, “May God give place to the departed soul at his holy feet and give strength to his family members to bear this immense sorrow. Om Shanti!

His most recent single, ‘Aapse Milke Yaara Humko Accha Laga Tha,’ was released just a few days ago, on August 12. Punjabi has several other chartbusters to his name, including ‘Aacha Lage Se,’ ‘Tu Cheez Lajawab,’ and ‘Desi Desi.

Punjabi’s last rites will reportedly be done in his hometown of Rawatsar Kheda. His family has yet to issue a formal remark on the matter.
