Famous mimicry artist and actor Madhav Moghe passes away battling cancer

Madhav Moghe, Known as a duplicate of Sanjeev Kumar for his style of mimicry, passed away after battling stage three cancer.

On Sunday (July 11), Prominent mimicry artist, comedian, and actor Madhav Moghe passed away after battling stage three cancer. Madhav’s daughter Prachi Moghe confirmed her father’s demise to ABP News.

She said, “After the death of my mother on June 21, my father got very ill. He stopped eating and drinking, and he was feeling very weak. So, after completing the 13thday ritual of my mother’s death, he was admitted to Bombay Hospital for treatment, he was diagnosed with lung cancer. The cancer was in its final stage and there was no hope of survival. The doctors asked to take him home. I brought him back home yesterday and he died at 6.00 am today.”

Moghe has worked in several renowned movies such as ‘Damini’, ‘Vinashak’, ‘Ghatak’ and ‘Partner’. He also participated in several satire shows on TV and was well recognised for his mimicry of Thakur from the classic masterpiece of Bollywood ‘Sholay’.

Madhav Moghe was best known as a duplicate of Sanjeev Kumar for his tone of mimicry, the comedian was fighting stage three cancer. He made his Bollywood debut with 1993 movie ‘Damini’ which also featured Sunny Deol, Amrish Puri, Rishi Kapoor, and Meenakshi Seshadri. Madhav Moghe was last seen in ‘Janna Pehchana’ 2011, which also featured Sachin Pilgaonkar, and Ranjeeta Kaur in pivotal roles.

Madhav Moghe was also an promising host. He hosted numerous stage shows for years with some famous leading artists. Apart from acting in Hindi cinema and Marathi films, he had also worked in many TV shows.

On June 21, at 68, Madhav Moghes wife also passed away due to kidney-related concerns. She was diagnosed  with kidney problems for a long time and was under medical observation.
