Elvish Yadav, a YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner, is currently in judicial detention following his arrest in connection with the snake venom case. On March 17, he was arrested by Noida Police and placed in judicial detention for 14 days. According to many media accounts, the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act of 1985 was enforced on Elvish, although it has since been repealed.
According to a news source, officers made a surprising disclosure. They claim that the NDPS act was inadvertently placed on Elvish and was a “clerical error.”
The NDPS Act makes it difficult for people who are unfamiliar with the process to get bail. Earlier, it was stated that Elvish may face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
Elvish has reportedly been moved to a high-security barracks within the facility. He was kept in a quarantine cell inside the prison, but a few days ago, he was moved to a high-security barracks. These barracks are supposedly always locked, and inmates are not permitted to mingle. Two police officers and one warden are always stationed outside the barracks.
According to news accounts, the reality TV star was “sleepless” behind bars on his first night. He received three blankets to sleep on the floor. On his first day in jail, he was reportedly offered halwa, puri, and veggies for dinner.
Meanwhile, if rumours are to be accepted, Elvish, who had previously denied any participation in the snake venom case, has admitted to supplying it to rave events. The YouTuber also stated that he knew the other five people involved in the case and had met them several times before.
In February 2024, days after it was announced that Elvish could face legal issues when the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) discovered snake venom in the samples taken at the rave party, he posted a video slamming the media and those questioning him.
In a video, Elvish stated that the media is behind him and wants to cover everything he does. Elvish denied all claims against him, saying “main nanga hokar naachunga” if anyone can show he was present at the rave party.
