Ed Sheeran terms Taylor Swift’s friendship as “therapy”; ‘She is just basically in the same sphere’

Ed Sheeran, the Grammy winner talked about his friendship with American pop star Taylor Swift. he also opened up about the copyright infringement case.

Ed Sheeran, the melodious voice behind some of the most successful songs such as, “Shape of You”, “Photograph”, and “Perfect” was recently caught up in a copyright infringement case, in which he is proven innocent and not guilty. The heirs of Ed Townsend, who co-created Marvin Gaye’s 1970s smash “Let’s get it on”, stated that the “Perfect” singer plagiarised and stole the key components of the song when he created his song “Thinking out loud”. however, Ed Sheeran was not found liable in this case.

In a recent interview with Apple Music, Ed Sheeran talked about the case and said that he would never consider litigation against another artist. He stated that “The thing with these cases, it is not usually songwriters that are suing songwriters, I mean sometimes it is, but it’s not… I feel like in the songwriting community, everyone sort of knows that there is four chords primarily that are used, and there is eight notes. and we work with what we have got.”

Further Ed Sheeran talked about his relationship with the American pop star Taylor Swift. He said, ‘I have a long long conversation with Taylor about stiff just because I feel like she is one of the only people that actually truly understand where I’m at because she is a solo artist, she stadiums.’

He continued, ”We are just… Everything that was on our minds we talked about, I mean in itself is kind of therapy as well because you are actually talking to someone that you feel and have insecurities about and how other people treat you or how your family treats you, how your friends treat you, she is just basically in the same sphere.”
