According to reports, actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who is now filming in Serbia for the series Citadel, demanded a hefty fee. Citadel is the Indian adaptation of the spy thriller made by the Russo Brothers and starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden in the key roles. It is directed by Raj and DK, who had collaborated with Samantha on The Family Man season 2 film.
Varun Dhawan and Samantha will co-star in the movie Citadel, for which Samantha reportedly demanded a fee of Rs 10 crore.
The actress has already declared that she would portray Nadia Sinh’s mother in the episode. Citadel is set in two different historical periods in both its international and Indian editions. Samantha’s Citadel will solely include Priyanka’s character as a young child.
It was previously claimed that Samantha had granted the go-ahead for scenes to be filmed in which she will be shown kissing Varun. Varun and Samantha, as well as the producers, have not yet responded to the reports.
In a previous statement, Samantha made it clear that her impending spy-action spectacular is not a copy of Priyanka’s programme, clearing up any misunderstandings about the nature of the Indian adaptation.
Speaking about the show, Samantha earlier said, “When Prime Video and Raj and DK approached me with this project, I decided to take it up in a heartbeat! After working with this team on The Family Man, it is a homecoming for me. The Citadel universe, the interconnected storylines between the productions across the globe, and most importantly, the script of the Indian installment really excited me. I am thrilled to be a part of this brilliant universe conceptualised by the Russo Brothers’ AGBO. I am also looking forward to working with Varun for the first time, on this project. He is someone who is full of life and cheer when you’re around him.”
The Indian version of the Citadel release date is still pending.
