Billie Eilish loses over 1 lakh followers on Instagram after her “come out” as a queer

What was I Made For singer loses 100k followers on Instagram after coming out as a queer

Billie Eilish recently talked about her sexuality on Saturday at Variety’s annual Hitmakers Brunch. When asked whether she wanted to come out in the magazine’s Power of Women issue, Eilish disclosed during the interview that she is attracted to women. The Grammy Award-winning artist lost more than 100,000 Instagram followers after “coming out” as a queer.

In the past 30 days, the singer of Bad Guy is said to have lost 117,750 followers, the majority of whom unfollowed her on December 3.  Eilish lost 40,428 Instagram followers the day after her red carpet interview. Eilish mentioned in the report that she is “attracted to women.”
The 21-year-old singer, however, believed it to be “obvious.” “No, I didn’t. But I kind of thought, ‘Wasn’t it obvious?’ I didn’t realise people didn’t know,” Eilish remarked in the interview. The singer of You Should See Me in a Crown went on to say that she doesn’t think that “coming out” is a notion. “I’m just like, ‘Why can’t we just exist?’ I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I just didn’t talk about it. Whoops,” she concluded.

She also mentioned how shocked she was by the piece, stating, “I saw the article and I was like, oh… I guess… I came out today! OK cool.”  But in the end, she felt a sense of relief that was apparent to everyone.

Eilish criticized Variety on Instagram after the publication of the magazine’s most recent issue last month. She conveyed her gratitude to the magazine for giving her an award, but she was also upset that they had “outed” her on the “red carpet.”

“Thanks, variety for my award and for also outing me on a red carpet at 11 am instead of talking about anything else that matters i like boys and girls leave me alone about it please literally who cares stream ‘what was I made for”,  she wrote with a carousel of photos.

It’s disappointing to see how readily fans can still be critical of a well-liked musician like Billie for making such a pointless statement, even though Elish is used to losing 100k. Elish is no stranger to losing fans; she went through a similar scenario after appearing in a corset for a British Vogue cover shoot.
