Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachaiyaa bail pleas rejected by court

Earlier, NCB had arrested Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachaiyaa after their name being mentioned by a drug peddler.

On Monday, the court refused to agree to the NCB’s demand in which they had asked for remand custody of comedians Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa court. The court said that it was simple drug case of consuming a small quantity of drugs, and therefore, no custody is required.

A magistrate’s court on Sunday sent comedian Bharti Singh and writer husband to judicial custody till December 4 in a drug-related case. NCB had filed its replies on the couple’s bail pleas.

After 15 hours of investigation, Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachaiyaa were arrested on Saturday.

Earlier, NCB had confirmed that the couple had consumed drugs. The couple has been arrested and was escorted to NCB zonal office.

The anti-drug agency revealed that her house staff is being examined in the case to get to the source of the supplier.

NCB official said a ‘small quantity of cannabis’ (86.5gms) was found from their home in Andheri. The quantity of drugs found at the couple’s home was not commercial but could still invite up to 10 years in jail, according to officials.
