Ashanti took to her Instagram on Wednesday to share a sweet video announcing their pregnancy. The clip shows her getting ready to perform and upon her mother asking her, how much time she needs until she’s ready, Ashanti cleverly responds, “I’m going to need about nine months.”
To drive the message clear, the star captioned the video, “Baby baby baby baby…” Nelly also posted the video to his own Instagram page.
In a conversation with Essence, Ashanti also revealed that she got engaged to ‘Just a Dream’ singer. “This new year of my life is such a blessing full of love, hope, and anticipation. Motherhood is something that I have always looked forward to, and sharing this with my family, fiance, and loyal fans, who have been so supportive of my career, is an amazing experience.”
This is will be Ashanti’s first child, while fifth of Nelly. The couple initially started dating in 2003, but it ended in breakup in 2013. In June, the Body On Me singers attended the 3rd Annual Birthday Ball for Quality Control CEO Pierre P Thomas and were photographed together on the red carpet.
