Bollywood celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Kangna Ranaut, R Madhavan, Kajal Agarwal, Shilpa Shetty extending heartfelt wishes on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami

Since the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami has arrived, #happy_janmashtami is trending hot on social media with media buffs and many celebrities are found wishing everyone through the media.

Janmashtami is one of the greatest festivals of Hindus commemorating the day or “tithi” of the birth of Lord Shri Krishna. Every year on the Ashtami (8th day) of the month “Bhadra” (Aug-Sept in western calendar) the day is celebrated to worship Lord Krishna in a grand way. This year it’s being hailed during 18th and 19th of August. It follows several rituals including dance music dahi handi competition etc.

Noted, Big B in his Twitter handle shares an old video from one of his old films where he could be seen participating in a Dahi handi competition and breaking the clay pot or handi. He wrote, “आला रे आला गोविंदा आला.” Big B is also found to post in his story “Janmashtami ki anek anek shubhkamnayein”

Veteran actress Hema also took to her Instagram handle to write her wish to fans and posted a photo of Lord Krishna. She writes, “It is that festival tonight which we all look fwd to with joy & enthusiasm. Yes! It is Shri Krishna Janmashtami, which celebrates the birth of the Lord who came to earth to annihilate all evil His Bhagvat Gita is acknowledged as the best treatise on how to live an honorable life.”

Shilpa Shetty also conveys her wish since she’s a devoted worshipper of Lord Krishna. She often found visiting the ISKCON temple in Mumbai along with her family. Every year on the occasion of Janmashtami, she organises a grand Puja along with Dahi handi celebrations at home.

Kajal Aggarwal posted her wish and this year she will be celebrating with more enthusiasm for she now has her baby to celebrate it with.

Besides them, Rakul Preet, Ayushmann Khurrana, R Madhavan, Nushrat Bharucha, Arjun Kapoor, Karishma Kapoor, Nitu Singh, Abhishek Bachchan also extended their wishes on purpose to the auspicious occasion.

Many TV stars also penned heartfelt wishes for their fans on Janmashtami. Actor Sumedh Mudgalkar, who played Lord Krishna in the show ‘Radhakrishn’, shared a video of him dressed in his Krishna.
