“It’s Iris Van Herpen, laser-cut and usually I have to alter so much because I’m 5 feet tall, but the top fit like a glove,” said Ali to E! Live From The Red Carpet correspondent Laverne Cox on the Screen Actors Guild Awards red carpet. The actress added that they just had to alter the bottom and her shoes.
The comedian donned an off-shoulder black-and-white gown with laser-cut diamonds hanging off the sleeves. The look also featured a sheer overlay with coordinating white diamond shapes. She complimented her outfit with a diamond drop earning and styled her hair in ponytail.

Ali’s dress required a considerable amount of space, which prompted Laverne’s concern about the SAG Awards seating arrangements. The star revealed that she had to arrive at the ceremony in a sprinter van due to her dress, which was approved by her daughters – Mari, 8, and Nikki, 6. “You haven’t made it unless you’re going to an award show in a sprinter van,” she quipped.
