Actor Aishwarya Rai has shared her condolences over the death of talented young actor Sushant Singh Rajput,34, who committed suicide on Sunday at his Bandra home.
Sharing a heartfelt message on her Instagram Story, Aishwarya wrote, “Rest in peace Sushant. Prayers and strength to your family and loved ones.” Earlier, Aishwarya’s family members had also penned down their shock and condoled Sushant’s sudden demise, her husband Abhishek Bachchan wrote, “This is just so shocking. A wonderful talent. RIP Sushant” after the news broke online.
Aishwarya was one of Sushant’s earliest work partners from the industry. They got in contact with each other after performing together at the 2006 Commonwealth Games closing ceremony in Australia, in which Aishwarya was the lead performer and Sushant accompanying Shaimak Davar dance troupe as a background dancer.
Sushant once recalled his experience with Aishwarya in an interview, he said, he forgot to bring Aishwarya down after the performance was over. “As part of the act, I was supposed to lift Aishwarya. When the moment arrived, I lifted her but forgot to bring her down. This happened for nearly a minute. Aishwarya wondered why I’m not putting her down.”
“Always quick to think on her feet, Ash improvised a few steps. Wanting to escape from the taunts of his fellow dancers, I immediately disappeared after the performance got over. I feared what she might say. However Aishwarya is a wonderful person and took it all sportingly,” he had added.
