After Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise, Dhadak director Shashank Khaitan QUITS Twitter, feels it’s a ‘Breeding ground of negativity and hate’

If social media serves as one of the best ways to connect with the people residing thousands of kilometres away, it also has a dark and negative side to it. Trolling, hate, negativity, bullying are just some of the terms which are regularly exercised through social media by faceless users.

Since the news broke on the Internet about Sushant’s demise as he hanged himself to death at his Bandra apartment, people are blaming Tinsel town biggies, who contributed to the circumstances that led to his death. In this row, Dhadak director Sushant Khaitan left twitter as he thinks that microblogging site has become a ‘breeding ground for hate and negativity’.

Shashank Khaitan who has directed movies like Humpty Sharma ki Dhulania, Badrinath ki Dulhania and Dhadak, abandoned Twitter and before leaving, he slammed all those people who are spreading hate on social media.

The director took to Instagram to share a screen grab of his last tweet and captioned, “Finally deleted my twitter account… I am surely inconsequential, in terms of followers and reach for the platform… but I believe every voice is important… I hope such a powerful platform can evolve and reform to spread love and happiness … Praying for a peaceful world always…”

While the last tweet of Dhadak director aimed at all those faceless people who are spreading hate and he further hoped that people should try spreading love and positivity instead. His last tweet said, “Done with twitter… just a breeding ground for hate and negativity… very sad that a platform so powerful, could not be used to create a better world… praying for peace and love always… deactivating my account now … @Twitterindia.”

Though we still are not sure why Shashank stepped down from the microblogging site, he correctly cited the negativity that breeds on social media and when he dropped his last tweet, many users supported his idea of leaving and appreciated this step.
