Actress Priyanka Chopra raises her voice against increasing child abuse, urges fans to report such instances
Global icon Priyanka Chopra, in her tweet, has strongly condemned child abuse and termed it ‘simply unacceptable.’
She wrote on the micro-blogging site that it is our duty to safeguard the fragile innocence of children. Also, the actor urged fans to report such instances in order to save the children from sexual and physical abuse.
“The innocence of a child is so fragile, and the responsibility to protect that is one of paramount importance. Having personally heard so many horror stories, there are too many children who have endured the worst of humanity, and this is simply unacceptable. You can help stop the abuse…dial 1098 (India) to report it. Protect our children #Childline,” the Bollywood star wrote on Twitter.

The actress was responding to a tweet by the Union Minister Smriti Irani, who shared a video clip on child abuse.

It is worth noting that in 2016, Priyanka Chopra was appointed as the Global UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
Also, she has been a part of the UN’s global “Girl Up” campaign. In order to spread awareness about the COVID-19 outbreak, she has been working closely with WHO. The female actor also donated 10,000 pairs of footwear to healthcare professionals during these challenging times.
It is worth noting that she has been spending time with husband Nick Jonas in Los Angeles ever since the Coronavirus-triggered lockdown was announced.
