Actor Pooja Banerjee stresses over shortage of staff at shoot, says ‘don’t know how I will manage alone’

It is no brainer that Indian telly industry is glamorous. People are always decked up with makeup and dolled up with attractive attires. We even have heard the stories of how actors spend hours in a makeup room getting desired transformation to slip inside the skin of the character. This majorly happens with mythological and historical serials. But you will be surprised to know that Pooja Banerjee who is portraying the character of Nivedita Basu in Ekta kapoor’s family drama and love saga, Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 has a similar story.

In a recent interaction with Spotboye, Pooja revealed that it takes 5 artists to prepare her for the shot and along with it she also expressed her anxiety over getting ready without makeup and hair artists, keeping the social distancing and precautionary measures in mind. She said, “We really don’t know when the shoot is finally going to start and how we will manage. In my makeup room, there used to be usually 5 people, helping me out to get ready-two hair stylists, one makeup artiste and two people for my saree draping and jewellery. So, if I will have to do all of this myself, I don’t know how I will be able to as I take an hour and half to get ready with the help of these people.”

When the same portal asked if she doesn’t get bored by spending so much time in the makeup room, getting dolled up, to which she said, “No, because I love getting ready and I am a jewellery person, so I get to wear something beautiful every day. It takes time to get ready as my makeup especially, my eye makeup takes a lot of time.”

Pooja Banerjee who has a grey shade role in Ekta’s drama serial, is currently seen in ‘Kehne ko Humsafar Hai’ which is streaming on OTT platform.
Regarding her concern, it’s going to be tough once the shoots resume as working with low staff at a place where every person has a designated job; people have to find an alternative way to absolutely everything.
