Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Shahid Kapoor, and Kriti Sanon’s improbable love story debuted well at the box office on Friday (February 9). The film, which also stars veteran actors Dharmendra and Dimple Kapadia, has gotten mixed reviews from audiences and reviewers. While some applauded Shahid and Kriti’s acting, others praised their on-screen connection.
According to media sources, the film grossed Rs. 6.5 crore on its first day of distribution. The overall Hindi occupancy rate was 14.92 percent. The evening and night shows reportedly had occupancy rates of 13.62 percent and 25.46 percent, respectively. The morning episodes of Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya had comparatively low occupancy, which was 8.8 percent occupancy.
The film’s box office performance is projected to improve during the weekend. The romantic comedy may also work around Valentine’s Day.
Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah make their directorial debut with Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. It presents a love story between a human and a robot, with Kriti portraying the latter.
Shahid is reprising his role as a lover boy after a long absence, having recently experimented with grey personas. In fact, the film’s tracks have gone viral, and Shahid has treated his fans by dancing his heart out to the title track, Laal Peeli Akhiyaan, and Akhiyaan Gulab.
It will be interesting to see if these elements work in the film.
Much to the amazement of the audience, actress Janhvi Kapoor appeared in the film’s end credits scene, hinting at a sequel. It is said that the sequel will feature a love triangle involving Janhvi, Shahid, and Kriti’s characters.
Unlike Kriti’s robot character SIFRA (Super Intelligent Female Robot Automation), Janhvi is portrayed as a human who meets Shahid’s character, Aryan, in a coffee shop. She made a three-minute cameo. The makers are yet to release an official confirmation for the Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya sequel.
