
India’s leading film distribution companies have joined hands and created ‘PVR INOX Pictures’ that will set to come under the top multiplex brands in the world. The newly formed unit will operate 1689 cinemas in over 361 entities across 115 cities in India and Sri Lanka.

The merger has been done to increase the obtainment of better content so that it stays in a better position in the Indian market. The platform will also provide an opportunity to undervalued artists and storytellers who haven’t been given a wider range of exposure and direction. Lastly, it would intend to create a better innovative experience for the audience in order to deliver them high-quality content.
The announcement regarding the collaboration between the two ruling companies was made last year in March. The aim was to create the largest cinema chain all over India. In a recent interview, the Executive Director of PVR INOX Limited, Sanjeev Kumar Bijli was asked about the merger and how it will be beneficial to everyone, to that he said, “PVR INOX Pictures will aspire to be the most innovative, exciting and fun place to share your stories with India. With two large forces coming together, the scale of opportunities is unprecedented.”
