NCB has summoned many Bollywood celebrities such as Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh, Shraddha Kapoor as well as Deepika’s KWAN talent manager, Karishma Prakash and Jaya Saha, former KWAN talent manager of late Sushant Singh Rajput for allegedly being a part of the drug cartel of Bollywood. The actresses and the managers were interrogated for long hours regarding the drug network and the WhatsApp chats that were found by the officials.
Deepika Padukone and her manager, Karishma Prakash, were interrogated with context to their WhatsApp chat of 2017 where they were talking about hash, maal, and doob. They had their phones seized for forensic examinations and also to find the rest of the people involved. On Tuesday, the NCB officials in a press conference said that “NCB has ‘almost’ given a clean chit to actors Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor, and Padukone’s manager Karishma Prakash.”
On another interrogation on Saturday, Deepika and her manager, Karishma, told the NCB officials that in 2017 WhatsApp chats, they were using the words maal, weed, hash and doob as code names for different types of cigarettes “for fun”. They both said that they were referring to low-quality cigarettes as maal, slim and better ones as hash and weed, and the thick ones as doob. The officials asked them questions regarding the same in separate rooms, and they both supported the code names. The team of NCB officials seems to be satisfied with the way they both gave similar justification for the code names.
