Hyderabad police have arrested Tollywood superstar Allu Arjun following a tragic stampede during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre. The incident claimed the life of a woman, Revathi, and left her 8-year-old son critically injured.
Arjun was taken into custody by the task force police and brought to the Chikkadapalli Police Station for questioning. The authorities have registered a case against the actor in connection with the incident. Reports suggest that the stampede occurred due to overcrowding at the theatre during the much-anticipated movie’s premiere.
Hyderabad witnessed a tragic incident on December 4 when a 35-year-old woman, Revathi, lost her life, and her eight-year-old son was hospitalized following a stampede at Sandhya Theatre during an event featuring actor Allu Arjun. The Hyderabad Police have registered a case against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under sections 105 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The complaint was lodged by Revathi’s family at the Chikkadpally police station.
Three individuals—a co-owner of the theatre, the senior manager, and the lower balcony in-charge—have been arrested as part of the investigation. According to the police, the theatre management and the actor’s team failed to inform authorities about the visit or make adequate security arrangements.
