Sainik Schools will be opened for girl students, announces PM Modi

PM Modi announced the expansion of Sainik Schools in addition to the already established 33 schools and is now aiming to open it, especially for girl students, at the Red Fort today. Sainik Schools are observed as an effective jump-off platform for young people to prepare for a career in the Indian armed forces.

“I used to get messages from lakhs of daughters that they also want to study in Sainik School. The doors of Sainik Schools should be opened for them too,” PM Modi averred.

“Two-and-a-half years ago, the experiment of admitting girls students was done for the first time in a Sainik School in Mizoram. Now, the government has decided that all the Sainik Schools in the country will also be opened for our daughters,” PM Modi added.

It is a matter of pride for the country whether it is education or sports, board results or Olympics medals, our daughters are performing phenomenally today. Today, the daughters of India are eager to take their space,” the Prime Minister asserted.

Till now, Sainik Schools used to admit only boys in its institution but is now open for girls too, this occurred after a pilot project in Mizoram two years ago enrolled in girl students.

On special appeal of the state governments, Sainik Schools was brought into the light; it is operated by the Sainik Schools Society, which is guided under the administrative control of the Defence Ministry. The primary aim of introducing Sainik Schools is to prepare students from a tender age to go ahead in the path of armed forces.
