NIRF Rankings 2021: IIT Madras bags the top spot, AIIMS best medical college

The NIRF Rankings have been disclosed under various categories, including, University, Management, College, Pharmacy, Medical, Engineering, Architecture, ARIIA (Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements), Law, and Research Institutions.

On Thursday, September 9, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan released The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2021. The Rankings have been disclosed under various categories, including, University, Management, College, Pharmacy, Medical, Engineering, Architecture, ARIIA (Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements), Law, and Research Institutions.

In the overall category, IIT Madras has been ranked on top, while IISc Bengaluru has come second followed by JNU Delhi and BHU, Varanasi, and IIT Bombay at third place. Complete ranking for all the top Institute can be checked on the official website of  NIRF.

NIRF score is a reflection of where a college or a university or institution is standing vis-a-vis other institutions in a similar category. The rankings for all colleges and universities across the country given by the Ministry were based on teaching, learning, and resources; research and professional practice, graduation outcome; outreach and inclusivity; and peer perception. Along with the overall rankings, stream-wise rankings have also been revealed.

NIRF Rankings 2021:

  • Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) had emerged as the best institute in India, bagging on the top.
  • The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi has been placed as the best medical college.
  • The Manipal College of Dental Sciences has been adjudged as the best dental college in the country.
