NEP 2020 will focus more on learning instead of studying, fullfil nation’s aspirations: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the inaugural session of the Governors’ Conference on the National Education Policy, titled “Role of NEP-2020 in Transforming Higher Education” organised by the Ministry of Education.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the inaugural session of the Governors’ Conference on the National Education Policy, titled “Role of NEP-2020 in Transforming Higher Education” organised by the Ministry of Education. Both PM Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind addressed the event through videoconferencing.

He said at the event that  Education policy belonged to everyone and that the NEP 2020 focuses on learning instead of studying, goes beyond curriculum to focus on critical thinking and is key to ‘fulfill nation’s aspirations.’ He also added that the more teachers, parents, students are associated with education policy, the more relevant and broadbased it will be. Under this policy more higher educational institutions will be opened, so that more students can access higher education.

Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal,  Education Ministers of all States, Vice-Chancellors of State Universities and other senior officials are also attending the event.
