The decision to induct women for permanent commission in armed forces through NDA has been informed by the centre to the apex court, this month. Regarding the method of working that decision has been filled in the present statement.

The statement said that “any dilution of physical training and service subject like firing, etc. would invariably impact the Battle Worthiness of the Armed Forces adversely,” and therefore many facilities for women cadets have to be developed like equitation, swimming, games, and sports. To ensure physical separation between the residential areas of men and women new residential facilities have been submitted by the ministry and to maintain the privacy of women correction to facilities such as bathroom cubicles would also be required.

On August 18 in an interim, the supreme court had allowed women candidates to sit for the NDA entrance exam which will be held on September 5.  Last year on February 17, the judgment passed by Justices D Y Chandrachud and Ajay Rastogi has been noted by the bench which told the government to make sure that permanent commission in the Army is given to the women Short Service Commission officers, which also includes command posting. On September 8 a status quo for 2021 has been out saying its needs “policy changes, procedure, training infrastructure, etc”.
