Andhra Pradesh schools and colleges to reopen, government announces dates

Jagan Mohan Reddy government has decided the dates for reopening classes 9th to 12th as 2 November and 6th to 8th as November 23.

Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday announced to reopen schools and colleges from 2nd November 2020.

Jagan Mohan Reddy government has decided the dates for reopening classes 9th to 12th as 2 November and 6th to 8th as November 23.

The Andhra Pradesh government also asked the schools and colleges to take the classes on half-day and alternate day basis.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister’s Office stated, “Schools and Colleges will be opened in the state from 2nd November. Classes for 9, 10, 11, and 12 will commence from 2nd Nov. Classes for 6, 7, and 8 will start from 23rd November. Classes will be held for half-day only and on alternate days only.”

In September, Andhra Pradesh Government instructed schools, colleges to reopen from 5th October 2020 but the decision was postponed citing the Coronavirus situation.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic schools and colleges were closed since eight months in state.
