Agni-Prime missile successfully test-fired in Odisha

As per the DRDO officials, the new Agni series missile was a new generation advanced variant of the Agni class of missiles.

On Monday, India successfully carried out the test firing of a new missile of the Agni series, called as Agni-Prime, off the coast of Odisha.

Sources said that India had successfully carried out the test firing of the new missile Agni Prime at 10:55 a.m. on Monday, off the coast of Odisha. The Agni Prime, new nuclear capability missile was fully made up of composite materials and was a textbook launch.

As per the DRDO officials, the new Agni series missile was a new generation advanced variant of the Agni class of missiles.

The officials added that the missile was a canisterised missile with a range between 1000 km and 2000 km. The missile was tracked and monitored by various telemetry and radar stations positioned along the eastern coast. The missile had followed a textbook trajectory, while meeting all mission objectives with a high level of accuracy.

On July 25, the DRDO successfully test fired an enhanced range version of indigenously developed 122 mm Caliber Rocket from a MBRL (Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher) at an Integrated Test Range (ITR), at Chandipur off the coast of Odisha.

DRDO also successfully test fired an extended range version of indigenously developed Pinaka rocket from MBRL at ITR Chandipur off the coast of Odisha on July 24 and July 25 as well.
