Ghaziabad: 3 arrested for killing 1 and injuring 2 outside a temple

The police added that one of the accused, Nitin, was working in the Indian Army and was on a leave.

On Saturday, the Ghaziabad Police arrested three people for beating a young man to death and injuring two others over an argument that broke over a spot where the accused was having food.

The police said that, on Thursday, a 22-year-old Praveen Saini and his two friends were attacked near the temple by three men; Nitin Sharma, Ashwini Sharma, and Akash Tyagi, who were eating food on the Gangnahar Ghat. The victims were asked by the accused to move over which led to a fight. The police added that the accused were in a drunk state and had beaten the victims with sticks and rods which led to serious injuries.

Kamlesh Narain Pandey, Circle Officer of Sadar said that they had arrested the three accused and the investigation was pending. Out of the three victims, Saini died due to injuries during his treatment in the hospital, he was from Meerut and worked at the temple and the shops nearby.

Due to an argument, a local intervened but ended up in an argument with the accused over the spot, Saini and his friends also joined the argument which led to the accused assaulting them with rods and pipes.

Devender and Vinod suffered injuries and had been hospitalized.
