According to reports, the Delhi Police Special Cell has seized 354 Kilograms of good quality heroin cost Rs 2500 crore. With this, the Delhi Police have exposed a large international drug syndicate.
Reportedly, four people are arrested as yet in the matter. Among the four, three were caught from Haryana and one from Delhi.
As far as the reports are concerned, this is one of the biggest consignments of drugs to be unmasked by the Special Cell. Moreover, it is also the largest drug syndicate to be unveiled.
The police got involved in investigating an angle of narco-terrorism in the case. Further, the interrogation of suspects also began.
Neeraj Thakur of Special cell, in a press conference on Saturday, informed that the operation had been underway for months. He revealed that the drugs had arrived from Afghanistan and were transported from Mumbai to Delhi by the sea in hidden containers.
Thakur disclosed, ” The drugs were to be further processed at a factory near Shivpuri in Madhya Pradesh.” He added that a house was rented in Faridabad to hide them. The drugs were supposed to be supplied in Punjab.
There are clues that money to facilitate the operations may have been coming from Pakistan as well, asserts Neeraj Thakur.
In the past month, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) of Delhi broke an international drug trafficking syndicate. In this case, eight people were detained. 22 Lakh psychotropic tablets along with 245 kg of similar drugs were also seized.
