2nd extortion case filed against ex-Mumbai top cop Param Bir Singh

According to ANI the Second case of Extortion was filed against ex-Mumbai cop Param Bir Singh

The second case of extortion has been registered against former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh. A total of six people were named in the FIR, for allegedly demanding ₹2 crores from a man.

Earlier the case registered against the ex-cop was filed by a builder and cases registered by Marin Drive police. He was also booked under the Atrocities Act case in April this year on the complaint of a serving police inspector from Akola.

The complainant made is said to be the nephew of builder Shyam Agrawal, who has registered another extortion case against Singh at the Marine Drive police station.

In respect to the first case, it was registered at Marine Drive police station by Agrawal, a developer from Mira-Bhayandar, on Thursday. The developer, who has multiple criminal cases registered against him, has claimed that several crores of rupees have been extorted from him over several years for multiple reasons including not arresting him in an extortion case in which stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act.

The developer has also named five other police officers, including Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Akbar Pathan and police officers Sanjay Patil, Shreekant Shinde, Nandakumar Gopale, and Asha Kokare.

There were two civilians identified as Sunil Jain and Sanjay Punamia who were arrested by the police, the two had a joint project in the realty at Gorai, Borivali, and Bhayender, but they parted their ways after the dispute in 2011
