Tata Consumer appoints Tarun N P Varma as global CHRO

Varma’s primary responsibility will be to create a competitive and compelling employee value proposition for Tata Consumer’s worldwide business.

Tata Consumer Products (TCP), the Tata Group’s consumer products division, announced Tarun N P Varma as the company’s global chief human resources officer on Tuesday.

“In his new role, Varma will primarily be responsible for developing a competitive and compelling employee value proposition (EVP) for TCP’s global organization besides embedding an integrated people agenda to accelerate delivery across all the pillars of TCP’s business strategy,” the company said in a statement announcing Varma’s appointment.

Sunil D’Souza, MD and CEO of Tata Consumer Products, will report to Varma, who will be located in Mumbai.

Varma joins to Tata Consumer Products with almost two decades of expertise, having previously worked at Shell Plc as vice president, human resources for the Global Technology business. He formerly oversaw the human resources operation for the Shell Group of Companies in India. Prior to joining Shell, he held a variety of HR leadership positions with major global organisations such as Vodafone, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, and Nestle.
