Starlink India chairman Sanjay Bhargava resigns citing personal reasons

Sanjay Bhargava had worked with Elon Musk for the e-payment firm, PayPal. 

Starlink India Country Director & Chairman, Sanjay Bhargava resigned from his post today citing personal reasons. Mr. Sanjay informed about the resignation through a LinkedIn post. “I have stepped down as Country Director & Chairman of the Board of Starlink India for personal reasons. My last working day was December 31, 2021,” he wrote on LinkedIn. Sanjay Bhargava had worked with Elon Musk for the e-payment firm, PayPal.

Earlier today the Government of India advised people to refrain from subscribing to Starlink, as the company is yet to be licensed. A warning was given to Starlink to stop taking bookings & rendering services. The company has made it clear that it will refund the money taken for subscription. “As has always been the case, you can receive a refund at any time,” the company said to one of its customers through E-mail as per Reuters.

Starlink is backed by tech mogul, Elon Musk & is planning to opt for a license by the end of January. Starlink’s main motive is to provide internet in inaccessible areas through satellites launched in the Earth orbit. “The Starlink team is looking forward to making Starlink available in India as soon as possible,” the company said in a statement as per Reuters.
