Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, announced a new Giga Factory for Power Electronics at the 45th RIL AGM. Affordable and dependable power electronics will be one of the key components connecting the entire value chain of Green Energy.
“We are developing significant capabilities in the design and manufacture of power electronics and software systems, which will be integrated with our Telecommunications, Cloud Computing, and IoT platform capabilities.” “We will build this through partnerships with leading global players to provide the most affordable solutions that meet global performance, safety, and reliability standards,” Ambani said in his speech.
In addition to solar energy, Ambani stated that the company is actively pursuing bio-energy, offshore wind, and other unconventional forms of renewable energy and that it will continue to expand its manufacturing ecosystem.
Reliance announced last year the construction of the Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy Giga Complex in Jamnagar. “By 2030, we hope to have established and enabled at least 100GW of solar energy.” The work completed thus far has reaffirmed my belief in solar energy and provided additional impetus to our investment thesis of establishing four Giga Factories.
