OnePlus has confirmed that nothing will change about the looks, feel and work of the OxygenOS. They are committed to provide its users with three upgrades and four years of software updates with OxygenOS.

Apart from China, OnePlus phones will continue to run on OxygenOS, the present custom Android interface.

After OxygenOS will merge with Oppo ColorOS, an update will come. However, the merger will largely effect the underlying code resources.

Although OnePlus will integrate its code resources with Oppo’s ColorOS, OxygenOS will remain the same.

Reports have stated that this decision will allow OnePlus to manage its resources better. And in the long term, it’ll allow the company to commit more and extended software updates to its users.

This announcement comes as a relief for users as the critically acclaimed OxygenOS experience will remain the same like before. And more importantly when Oppo’s ColorOS doesn’t have quite a reputation compared to OnePlus’ OxygenOS.

While one cannot anticipate about the fate of this merger and its future decisions, users can keep enjoying the Oxygen OS experience for now.
